Pam Hicks from Newbury brought with her a couple of boxes containing all the make-up she ever uses. She ran through the contents and advised what to buy and what not to buy.
Pam then got us to pair up and demonstrated the various stages for “normal” stage make-up, with some excellent tips for the men. After each stage we practiced on each other and gradually produced the finished article! Pam also showed us how with relatively small changes to the eye make-up you could make someone look evil - so we all ended up with one good eye and one bad one!
We then went on to learn techniques for a number of different characters, with useful tips like a cat has a “scruffy” nose and a dog has a clearly defined one. In the picture above right we are all looking amazed at the difference between make-up close too and make-up under the stage lights. It was agreed that there was loads more we would like to learn and a second workshop will be arranged for later in the spring.
